New Executive Committee members of the Brunei Speakers’ Club (BSC) were elected yesterday, at the SEAMEO VOCTECH, Gadong.
The meeting saw the election of Chris Woo, finalist of World Championship of Public Speaking 2014, as President of Brunei Speakers’ Club. Meanwhile, Jordan Yau, Supatra Lee, Gerald Goh, Pooja Shivanand, Howard Leong and Macalister Mak were elected as Vice President Education, Vice President Membership, Vice President Public Relations, Secretary, Treasurer and Sergeant at arms of BSC, respectively.
In Chris’s inaugural address, he stated that his vision for BSC 2015/2016 is to increase and solidify the educational foundation of the club.
“I seek to significantly enhance the knowledge of our members on public speaking via the sharing of experts in the field. If the mind and body of the members are as fertile as rich soil, they would grow in confidence and develop conviction in their voices”, said Chris, who is also a senior lecturer in Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
